I am a newbie to chickens and wanted to confirm my suspicions. I think I have one rooster? The rest I think are hens. What do you all think? They are all 5-6 weeks old.
Rooster?
Hens? Rhode Island Red, Black Australorp & I forget the yellow one, sorry.
Thanks for helping me out.

Is that a Cornish Cross meat bird??
Maybe it's the angle of the pic, or the bare spots that come with feathering in all birds....but he looks huge!
Definitely a cockerel.
FYI.....semantics, maybe, but can be important communication terms when discussing chicken behavior.
Female chickens are called pullets until one year of age, then they are called hens.
Male chickens are called cockerels until one year of age, then they are called cocks(or cockbirds or roosters).
Thank you so much. He is not a meat bird, the two yellows are Amberlinks. And they are both in their ugly duckling phase. Half fluff and half feathers!
