Rooster highrise condo...what do you think??*** PICS ADDED 3/21 ***

OK. I cut the hardware cloth to fit each space and used 1 inch drywall screws with a washer to hold the wire in place. I wrapped it all the way around and overlapped it slightly in the back. Then I cut a 10 X 12 door out in the front. I cut a 11 X 13 inch piece of hardware cloth to use for the door. I used duct tape to cover the edges of the wire. I know they make stuff that you can put on it but it isn't available locally so I used my favorite thing beside drywall screws...duct tape.

I did go ahead and purchase the special pliers and clips that are made by Havaheart to make cages. It was about $15 for those, but I can put that to good use in making carrying cages. This is what I used to attach one side of the door to the wire. See photo below.

So, drywall screws screw right into the metal frame?

Oh, GOODY! Now I can keep MORE chickens in the house...

I moved my six week old Mille Fleur and Calico Cochin cockerels out of the basement into the garage today. But not until after a photo shoot in the backyard!

Hi Nancy!
Maybe oldtimegator can help us out more here, but I think maybe the shelving is of a plastic material. I'm wondering if they are pre-drilling the holes for the screws?

Hi Gail!

I apologize for the photos ~ I was thinking that this was the Cochin thread.

I think the shelf condos would be great for brooding chicks. And I also want to say Thank You to Oldtimegator's daughter for her service to our Country.
