OK. I cut the hardware cloth to fit each space and used 1 inch drywall screws with a washer to hold the wire in place. I wrapped it all the way around and overlapped it slightly in the back. Then I cut a 10 X 12 door out in the front. I cut a 11 X 13 inch piece of hardware cloth to use for the door. I used duct tape to cover the edges of the wire. I know they make stuff that you can put on it but it isn't available locally so I used my favorite thing beside drywall screws...duct tape.
I did go ahead and purchase the special pliers and clips that are made by Havaheart to make cages. It was about $15 for those, but I can put that to good use in making carrying cages. This is what I used to attach one side of the door to the wire. See photo below.
