Rooster in nesting box? why?

At first, I only had one roo in the nesting boxes at night, then 2, then all three were down there together, sometimes sleeping squashed nearly on top of each other, 2 to a box. Mine aren't very encouraging though. I think the girls kicked them off the roosting bar.

My old roo, Stew, was in the nest box just today. He was helping one of his favorite gals get comfortable in the community nest box. Then he stayed in the coop with her until she was done. I have noticed he will get in the community box with them every once in a while and he is especially diligent to the new layers. My guy is very sweet though. He forages for food all day just to give it away to the girls! Makes sure they are all fed before he has any! He also joins in on the victory chant after every girl lays I love hangin out with the birds

I found my rooster in the nesting box yesterday,an when I lifted the lid to the nesting box, he hollered at me, heck I didn't even know he was in there... Scared the heck out of me, not sure why he was in there, he was all alone as the girls where out grazing...

Well, sometimes they just want some peace and quiet, y'know?
