ROOSTER INJURED HELP!!!!

Hello my rooster was outside yesterday andmy neighbors dog got him his butt is all tore up and his leg and now he's scared please help

Ok so first get him in a separate coop and clean his leg up a bit and if you have blood stop powder than put some on him. Then I would wrap his leg up in something like a rag then bring him to a vet.

I would bring him in and wrap him in a towel. If he is tame hold him, if not put him in a cardboard box until he calms down. Then clean the wounds with warm water. Then I would put antibiotics on it. Try and get some Vetricyn Wound Spray.

I am adding that you need to keep roo quiet,& comfortable [in the house] and he will need antibiotics because there are a gazillion germs in a dogs mouth. The last thing you want is an infection.

Thanks guys for everything but he's so scared like he only eats and drinks when no one is around and and all my other chickens eat mealworms but not him he used to but not no more

Well if he's that scared maybe you could just put him somewhere wehre he can't see you so he'll eat. Also, try offering other goodies like cracked corn, bread, egg yolk (best hardboiled), and maybe some yogurt. I best reccomend the yolk or cracked corn though because my whole flock comes running to me when it's "scratch time" and they fight over occasinal broken egg yolks.

I keep a whole tupperware of frozen eggs in the freezer just in case. Plus, the hens like it if I put some in their food.

The towel and cardboard box work really well.

Hello everyone thanks for the ideas hes getting better now hes eating and drinking and playing with the hens and my other rooster but he is now just scared hmm maybe just have to wait
