Introducing "new" birds to an established flock is all that's happening to you roght and it is tough. I am currently starting an EE project and my girls are trying their absolute best to kill a 3 yr old roo who's 2 times there size and the 4 ne EE hens i picked up from my friend. I never thought a 2lbs hen could skull drag a 7lbs roo all over a 15x 10 enclosure but it sure happened twice today.

Might be best to re-home 1 or start a 2nd flock for yours. I have been to iraq and fought in a war but in 3 attempts to add to my flock, i gave up due to feeling bad for the new birds. Go figure. Best of luck to ya!

I have 2 roosters. Theyve been raised together. This past week..the hen that has been raised with them and he mated with..had her chicks. I seperated the two hens and their chicks to one coop..the 2 roosters to other coop...visible to each other. 2 roosters have always been best buds. Now theyre bloodying each other up fighting. Any possible suggestion why? Want to keep both roosters and mate with hens in spring. Any suggestion on calming roosters?

How many hens total do you have? Just the two? If so that is far too few for 2 roosters. As for the fighting, you could try moving them out of sight of the hens.

i had gotten the four together and knew 1 was rooster at 2 1/2 months. The one i thought sure was hen..didnt know to sept she was a he. So we built coop for roosters. The 1 hen started sitting. The other one was mated before we coukd seperate them. I want more chicks. She had 2. I want eggs..but also want to grow my flock. Will put one hen and rooster to mate in spring. Boys got along beautifully till we put them in seperate coop. Any suggestions on how to grow my flock. I did plan on getting more silkie hens in spring. I kinda am in learning curve. I got these 4 at 2 days old and raised them successful so far. Kinda ironic..i was wondering how to navigate first winter just those 4. Surprise..i have 2 chicks and 2 roosters..1 more than i expected. Whats best plan to deal with current flock till spring. Want to keep both. They have had 2 fights..but otherwise are best buds. Any advice always welcome

Even one cockerel will be rough on only 2 hens, so I am not sure why you want to keep both. Most roosters can easily handle about 10 females on average. But if you are determined to keep both I would separate them for the winter to give the hen's some peace. It will also give you time to sex the new chicks.

If you plan on using broody raised chicks to increase your flock then you also need a plan to deal with the excess cockerels you get. Here they get eaten.

Everything going great with roosters hens and baby chicks. Roosters missed seeing the girls and looks like they could hear chicks and just wanted to see them. All is well.
