He is my only one to go lame. He has been perfectly healthy, not old, right around a year.
He is a black-blue laced red wyandotte.

Any ideas? None of my others have shown any sort of injury/disease. I assume he hurt himself jumping off the perch or something. I really dont know.

He is my breeder with my 6 splash hens, i also have a splash roo with 7 blue hens but they are my only 2 roos right now.

Can you get pictures? They really help! Did you check him for bumblefoot? And what are your temps right now where you live?

I've learned that there are different possibilities for what you're describing. For my rooster Henry, he was attacked and had a complete loss of movement in his right leg. As he began to recover, his leg was similar to your roosters. He either suffered from nerve damage, a fracture or break, or both.

When he tries to move, does he use his right hip at all? Do you see him lifting the leg up from the hip, despite a diminished ability to actually stand on that leg or walk?

I will try to get pics sometime soon. I just got home from work and made dinner and now it is dark. I live in Northern Indiana near the Michigan line.
He was not attacked, he is safe in the barn. My barn gets down to 15-20 degrees at the coldest usually. Usually right now around 25 degrees at night. All the other birds are fine.
