Rooster is killing my hens

I've never had one that didn't- one seems to think its an alarm call though. But they've always joined in!

Are you sure that it is the rooster killing your hens? As said above, good roosters should protect their hens, never harm or better yet kill them. What makes you think your rooster is killing them?

I suggest you separate the rooster from the hens for at least a few days: divide their pen with something, or put him in a wire dog crate, or something like that.

If any more hens die, then you have some other predator to find, and the rooster is not the problem. If the deaths stop, then butcher the rooster and eat him. Or give him to someone else that would like to eat him, if you don't want to do it yourself.

my Roo sings the egg song daily. He's a dork
I think they like to celebrate! Maybe they even know that the eggs are future babies

( I ended up selling him to a local farm for breeding instead though)

My friend called me to come over when his rooster went crazy and started killing all of his hens . He would hold them down and pick the brains out . Needless to say he is no longer here .

Unless you want fertile eggs for hatching - you don't need a roo. If you are certain the roo is killing your hens have him for dinner.

I am sorry you are losing your hens. Its hard to lose our pets. Please put a stop to it. You need to kill rooster. DO NOT try to rehome him. Rehoming would be giving someone else a hen killing headache. Be responsible and cull dispatch kill, use whatever term you want, and make soup, bury, feed the dogs.
