Rooster Issues!

hi this might sound stupid but it works for me i usually grab my roo by the tail then hold him tight with two hands and look him directly in the eyes and tell him stop firmly about 1 -2 minutes or more however long it takes him to calm down then i let him go. he doesnt stop right away but after couple more times he goes away and doesnt bother me. hes just being territorial.

This might sound even crazier than other suggestions but can he see well? Since he's polish he might be blinded a bit by his hairdo and is attacking the strange object he doesn't recognize. Mine did that once or twice before I cut his "hair" last time.
