Rooster just started mounting. Can I eat fertile eggs?

So I just saw my 5 month old rooster mounting on my hen. I was just wondering if you can eat fertile eggs. So if I collected the eggs everyday would I have to put them in the fridge, or could I leave them on the counter? Sorry , this sounds like a stupid question. Any help is appreciated.

It’s not a stupid question! You can totally eat them! And you can for sure leave them on the counter! They aren’t much different than infertile except… they’re fertile.

Yes, you can eat them. A fertilized egg won't start to develop on the counter unless the inside temperature in your house is around 98-F. If it is, then wash them and put them in the fridge.

It’s not a stupid question! You can totally eat them! And you can for sure leave them on the counter! They aren’t much different than infertile except… they’re fertile.
