Hello, I bought 4 chicks about 5 months ago turned out to be 2 roosters 2 hen they seem pretty coheres with each other and the two roosters attend to get along, but with the dominate rooster seems to want to challenge me when i enter the chicken run ( not every time ) approaches me sideway and has pecked my hands a few times I've gone through a few sites reading what they have to say on the matter I've not backed down when he's approached me, I've singled him out by separating him from the rest of the flock by letting the other rooster and hens out of the run and standing in the door opening to keep him inside the coop which he keeps his distance and doesn't try to attack me in any other way when i approach him 9/10 he will run away.

If you want him to stop pecking you, either train him or intimidate him more. You can train him by gently pushing him away every time or firmly saying no every time he has pecked you. You can intimidate him by seeming like the dominant “rooster” or showing him who’s boss so he will be nicer

Thanks for confirming, He is slowly learning his place on the pecking order.

He just wants to see if he's really in charge or if it's you. Maybe give some treats when you go in so he gets a different pecking or even just pick him up when he approaches and carry him around and pet him a bit. Turn it into something positive and a mutual respect or bond.

always handled them all feeding them treats from the hand while holding them since they was chicks so they got use to human interaction
