Rooster kept alone?

I think keeping roosters is totally fine. People will make a big deal saying that roosters are useless, aggressive, and loud. However, I think having a rooster is SO fun. They are gorgeous! Yes, there is a chance yours could turn out to be aggressive, and yes, he may be loud at first, but I have totally gotten used to the noise. I don't even notice the crowing any more, and I have 8 roosters. When your brother sees how pretty and sweet your roo is he might change his mind. It is also fun to raise your own meat though.

Not sure why you're keeping your chickens at your brother's house, but assuming it's doable I'd say move them to your place and keep your (potential) cockerel if it's that important to you. I generally recommend not raising a cockerel with only same age pullets and think you'd be better off waiting till next year and adding a couple of pullets and a cockerel to what would then be an established flock of mature birds, but that's not to say you can't raise them together and have it work out. I've done it with good results before. It's all going to come down to the individual bird.

There not all mine, I’m just the one who takes care of them. Last week though his girlfriend convinced him to get chicks and since I’m the one already taking care of them he offered to let me have one.

I kept a bantam cockerel by himself for a time.
He was a dark Brahma named Hector.
He was alone about 2 or 3 months.
He was fine but it was clear he wanted companionship.
He would come up onto our deck and sit next to the sliding glass door for a long time several times throughout the day, watching us inside.
I swear he watched the tv too lol.
I would go out and sit outside and talk to him and give him treats.
He was SO happy when I got some pullets for him.
He was a gentleman and not aggressive in the least.
He also had a wonderful crow.
I like roosters and would like to always have one even if they’re just bantams.

I have several kept alone for at least two years. They do fine and can be in introduced to other chickens except roosters at any time. You can go a long ways making the confinement less unpleasant.
How’d you keep them from getting lonely?
