My 1 1/2 yr. old austo. roo. has been making a funny chuckling sound when it appears he is trying to poop. He squats then chuckles and only a small amt of normal looking poop comes out. His appetite has been good but today is decreasing some and he has stopped crowing now for about 3 wks and walks with his tail low and dragging rather than up as normal. Looks like he feels horrible! He free ranges with the girls all day but now staying alone. I caught him up and put him in the coop today and gave him Sulmet in his water. I have no idea what I'm treating or if this is even right. I do know I lost my favorite roo. last yr. acting this same way and it slowly progressed until he stopped eating and died. Anyone have any ideas or have one act this way - walking along, stops, squats, chuckling sound, poops sm. amts. then moves on. His wgt is way down when I picked him up also.
