Rooster limping after attack

First let me say this: I feel HORRIBLE. Just absolutely beside myself.

I was walking our new dog this morning. He's never been aggressive, just playful. We were in a hurry this morning and my husband couldn't walk him, so I did, and while I was out I decided to feed and water the flock. I was holding the dog by the collar/leash outside the coop and reaching in to grab the food container; the dog was struggling with me, trying to get in the run, and his collar unsnapped.

He attacked my Bantam Silkie and my two RIRs, all three in under a minute. I was finally able to pull him by the neck and drag him out of the run. I went back to the coop after putting him up, dragging him the entire way because he wanted the chickens, and I watched my Silkie flap around a time or two then die. She was one of my babies. I am so upset with myself.

That said, my RIR hen seems okay, just really shaken up. My RIR roo is shaken up but limping a little bit. Where he usually rules the roost and walks around trying to intimidate everyone, he's just been sitting. I don't know if he's still scared or what.

I don't have a local vet that will work on chickens. What should I do? My husband wants to just kill the roo and I'm pleading with him not to.

so sorry this happened, your roo is most likely in shock.
Go pick him up and check him over. he may have minor injuries that you can see. however he may have internal problems.

I will say some prayers for you all.
I hope someone with more experience can help you.

Thanks for your prayers!

He seems much better now, thankfully, and started his usual roo behavior again yesterday. I was so happy to see that bossiness return!
