We have a Brahma rooster, named Rooster, who is seemingly starting to lose sight. He was part of our first batch of poultry and around 5 or 6 years old. He is a beautiful and gentle rooster. Doesnt like attention much but tolerates it.

However, lately within this last year or so it seems like he might be losing sight. I never really noticed it before my mom pointed it out to me today, but I do notice it now. His eyes have looked droopy/squinted for awhile now but I didnt think anything of it. I never noticed any injuries or cloudiness in his eyes. He's been walking more slowly, staying closer around the house, missing things he pecks at, and I haven't seen him relly try to breed the hens like he used to. His pupils were still expanding and contracting when i was trying to open his eyelids as well.

Thanks for the help.

😳 I see bubbles...

@Eggcessive Mycoplasma or not?
Yeah I noticed those as well. I wasn't quite sure if it was any illness or not because I haven't noticed any other symptoms from him as far as sneezing or wheezing. The only "wheeze" I've heard from him is he'll wheeze when inhaling after crowing, but otherwise his breathing and all sounds fine. I think we are going to go ahead and start him on a Tylan 200 oral treatment for a couple of days and see if it clears up anything.

Today we saw him pathetically pecking at the air above the food without hitting it, so hopefully this can help somehow.

We might also try putting some drops/ointment in his eyes for a couple of days.
