Hi,
A couple of days ago we saw blood on the our Roosters backside near his tail feathers. We isolated him and he didn't appear to be bothered by whatever it was and he had no other injurys, other than missing some tail feathers. After 24-hours we put him back with the 8 hens he grew up with, but within 20-minutes, a couple of hens started pecking at his tail area. He was separated again and currently is off by himself. These pictures were just taken and show the injury area. He doesn't seem to be in pain and is not fussing where the injury appears. To us, the area looks swollen and infected with 1 obvious wound. But he is no longer bleeding.
Any thoughts or ideas on what may have caused this or a treatment plan? None of our other hens have any injurys.
thank you
