Rooster minus tail feathers bloodied HELP

I have a nearly one year old rooster who has either pulled out his own tail feathers and or the hens (of same age and there are 6 ) decided to try to turn him from a rooster to a hen. This is the second time it has happened to him.
I have tried bag balm local feed store said the chickens don't like the taste and will no longer go for the blood. Wrong my girls love the stuff. Someone told me lavender oil tried, they like that to. Tried isolating him from them he went a little crazy missed the girls. Desperate to help my Polish rooster. Anyone have any more ideas?
