Rooster not crowing???

I am new to the site so please bear with me. I joined so I could learn more about chick raising and laying.. But I have a question for anyone that might know please help. I have a dominque rooster and 2 hens, I also have 2 Rhode Island Reds and 3 Red Star hens. He is the only Rooster, I had another Rooster but let a boy have him for his dominque hen. The 2 roosters was raised together if this has anything to do with it. This has been going on about a week. As far as his health he seams ok. My question is why is he not Crowing and he seems sad?? I done the trade about 2 weeks ago..

Welcome to BYC. If your rooster is eating and drinking normally, scratching around etc...dont worry about it, he'll eventually crow.

from Ohio. So glad you joined. Was he crowing before the other one left or was the other one the more dominant roo and did most of the crowing and you just didn't notice until the other one left? I say this because I had two roos and the lesser doesn't crow as much.

As long as he isn't showing any signs of illness I wouldn't worry about it too much. Our Black Giant crows night & day, but our Dominique & Serama roosters hardly ever crow.
