My 1 year rooster is not eating. I found some tiny black bugs in his food so I cleaned out his area and put down promethian powder and new bedding and new feeder.
I noticed the rubbermaid container had a hole on the bottom and the area was wet underneath. I was concerned about food getting moldy.
The rooster is separate as he was scaring the hens. Our 5 year old rooster died last month. He had been eating only a little for his last few weeks. We had been feeding pellets and since they were not eating it we switched to crumbles. The last bag of crumble is a different brand. I buy soy free for the hens and the rooster gets the same food.

Another, thing was that I found a 1 year hen dead this morning with her head down in the shavings. Another hen had a dystended abdomen a couple of days ago and is doing a little better now.

Can you post some photos of the birds and their poop?
How long have you had the rooster?
Did you see if the feed got molded too?

You mention you have a hen with a distended abdomen - but she's doing better - is it fluid in the abdomen, does she lay eggs?
Did you clean up the wet area where the food was, etc.?

I would check all them for lice/mites, make sure feed is not molded. Check to see that their crops are emptying overnight. Work on hydrating the birds, then offer fresh feed.
