Thanks for the input. Nuts... I'll probably have to give him away once he starts crowing. Hope I can find someplace where he won't end up on a dinner table.

Absolutely right. I just had to rehome 4 of my 7 silkie chicks that were definitely boys. I advertised them and I had a few people contact me who really didn't know what they were doing with chickens at all, one wanted to put all 4 boys in with their old rooster and 6 hens. It would have been carnage! I ended up sending them to a farm miles away from here where luckily there lives a lady who breeds silkies. The best possible outcome for them! The other possibility was to send them to another farm where the farmers are very good with their animals, treat them with respect, and when the time comes for culling they know how to do it humanely. Either of those two options would have been appropriate.
