Rooster or Hen? 5wk old Australorp

Always walks tall
Protective of other chicks
Tail feathers are longer and stand tall
Fearless personality, not shy at all even around my dogs

Too early to tell? What are some early signs of a rooster in Austalorps?

I'm not seeing anything screaming rooster at this point. The traits you've described can certianly be male, or just a bold female. The thing you're going to be looking for is a red comb at this age. If it's a male, Aussie boys aren't usually shy about announcing themselves and you'll know by the comb in the next few weeks.
