My heart hopes this is a hen only because roosters cannot be kept where I live and their personality is wonderfully cute. Any thoughts on identification? I purchased about 8 weeks ago. Thank you

You may want to post a closeup photo of the chickens comb. Roosters have a wider comb than hens. From the pose it is taking, I get a slight feeling that it may be a rooster.:idunno Like,,,, looking over the landscape and protecting his flock of hens. Also looks large enough to be crowing, or soon. If no crowing,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, start looking for possible eggs soon.
WISHING YOU BEST,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, and :welcome

It's difficult to tell in that picture, but my guess is cockerel based on the thick legs and red wings. Better pictures of comb, back and tail would help get more definite answers.
