This is Duck (because we are incredibly creative with chicken names šŸ˜‚), my almost 14 week old ameraucauna (or so I was told). ā€œSheā€ acts slightly more aggressive than the other hens, but not alarming so. The reason we question her ā€œhen-nessā€ is that her tail feathers are a mix of rounded like a classic hen, with a few stragglers dropping down like a roo. We haven’t heard any crowing or test crows as of yet, but I know that doesn’t always mean anything until the first egg is laid.
Is she a he? Please help!!
These were the best pictures I could get of her, but I’ll update with better ones if I’m able to achieve it.
Thank you in advance!!!

NOOOOO! We live in city limits 😩

Aww sorry you can’t keep him.

You can try selling or giving him away. This year there are more roosters because more and more people are buying chicks and it’s becoming harder to even give them away for free.

Would you consider eating him?

I think I’ve got a potential home lined up for my other surprise roo, so I think they will take this one as well. I’ve unfortunately become really attached to him, so I don’t think I could muster up the courage or stomach to eat him.

Happy you were able to find him a home 😊
