This is generally true yes! Americana is the classic chicken sold in farm stores that typically turn out with easter egger colors, random egg colors and other!
True Americauna is the breed that generally has blue eggs and the really pretty puffy cheek genetic! And Auracana have very pronounced cheek fluff that kind of sticks up instead of being fluffy! This is just to my knowledge/research I've done!
