Hello All!
Top picture is the chick in question and the two below are showing the difference from him/her siblings. These are Partridge Cochin's and someone came by and said we have rooster but there are no spurs yet. They are 2 months old. Does anyone know how old chicks need to be to get spurs?
Yep, the top picture is your cockerel. Cochins are a very slow maturing breed, so don't expect him to really look or act like a roo anytime soon. Mine got their spurs sometime around a year old, maybe a bit later.
Really? We have 2 hen adult Cochin's. Now I'm concerned because we already have a rooster and we got 3 more so he had more hens. Now what should I do now that I have two roosters?
