I would have bet the farm that this was a hen but I'm new to this and admittedly clueless. My pretty girl Peggy Sue mounted another chick yesterday so now I'm having doubts. It is about 9 weeks old, mixed breed. I read hens sometimes do that too but am missing something obvious here to all of you experienced chicken keepers? Her comb is not bright red but has a pink tone. She is a dominant chicken in my group. Any thoughts?
