Hello everybody. This is my first post. I was wondering if my chicken here is a rooster or a hen. I think it's a rooster but not sure. Any ideas?

For the last picture, it's the chicken on the right.

They are not crowing yet and this is the only one that has a crown a little bigger than the others.

Are they Rhode Island reds? My chickens are the same age! I had some RIR roos and they were a lot bigger. I think you just have a large pullet, but I'd watch her/him because some roos are late bloomers.

Yes they are! Are my chickens smaller than usual? Im hoping it is a hen.

At 14 weeks those combs and wattles are very red. My RIR girls are 16 weeks and their combs and wattles are not that red. I was led to believe that a hens comb and wattle goes red right before they start to lay. That being said the body structure and posture are not screaming roo to me. I think you have hens as well.

This is a link to my chickens at a younger age. You can see the difference between the 3 Roos and 3 Hens. BTW we all were correct in our guesses of gender.

See Post #15 for my photos.

Hope this helps.

Thank you all for your replies! Do you think this chicken in particular will start laying soon? Maybe even before the others? Thanks.
