Rooster or Hen?

I'm no expert at this, but....

In post #6 above, in the first and especially the second picture, I think the hackle and saddle feathers are pretty clear, making it a "he." Thes feathers not onl are "pointy," they hang down the side of the chicken as he matures, rather than frlwing with all the others along the side of the body. Below are a couple of links that explain this part of the feathering a little better.

My buff Orpington's about the same age, hope this helps.

I have recently added a Giant Cochin Rooster to my flock...However, he acts like a hen and shows no signs of crowing or an interest in my hens who are 6 months old. He is very timid and the first day he hid in the corner with his head buried because the girls peck him on the head and have pulled small feathers out. Nothing too scary but still not something I want to continue. I was told he is 8 months old. His temperament is super sweet, but he seems to have low energy and moves like a sloth. Is this typical for the Cochin breed? The hens pick on him and have not accepted him into the flock. I am waiting for him to assert himself and be a Rooster. I'm worried that he is a she or he is simply not the confident rooster I had in mind when I decided to add to my little flock. Here he is...Please let me know your thoughts! Thanks!
