Rooster or hens

im working on the quality of mine, but they typically show white until the final molt before they lay. not alot after a couple of months, but it does show. mine aren't show quality though, they are from the "record holdeing egg laying time" that could be the difference?
The Australorp I have is is probably also the "record holding egg laying line". I would say that it varies from chick to chick, some have more white than others, the chicks I've seen mostly have most of their black feathers in by 9 weeks.

mine are mostly black, but show more white than her picture originally. mainly on the lower wing feather(s).

i know mine are far from show quality though, they are just the first generation i have bred here. maybe i do need to select for more black at a younger age.
