Okay, first of all my Barred Rock has been picking on all the other hens like she's nuts and every time she does, my rooster chases her away. Well today he's gone a step further by trapping her in one of the nest boxes and he pecked a hole in the back of her head (I caught him with the meat in his beak still) So what do I do?? I have NO place to put either of them to separate unfortunately so that's just not an option. Is there something I should be doing? She's the only one he's going after.

Was there any answer to this as I currently have a red rock that is in almost the same situation? I have seperated her out from the flock to let her heal but the poor thing has had a real going over from one of my two roosters. Almost like she was his favorite bit of nooky.

Not really much you can do other than seperate them for a bit. If she is beating all the others it sounds like she needs removing anyway.

It's not that she's beating the others off, more that she is being pestered by one of the roosters. He has 9 other girls to play with but keeps coming back to her constantly. Anyway, I will keep her seperate for now and let her heal. The roosters may be for the pot if they start to pick on another girl too much
