I have a mixed flock - one black Ameraucana Rooster. I want to hatch some Ameraucana Leghorn cross eggs, but not one of the white eggs has been fertile.
Pretty much all the eggs from the production red and barnevelder are fertile.

The rooster is about 10 months younger than the other birds and I think the leghorn hens picked on him when he was younger.

Any suggestions on how to make this happen? I was thinking about leaving him with only the leghorn hens for a week or so?

Thanks

Is your flock to big for him to service everyone. He would have his favorites. Seperating him with just them would probably do the trick.

Thanks for the reply. There are 9 hens and 1 rooster, I don't think this is to many? Hope the separation works

The reason I say that is because I had a roo in the same situation. I separated him with 4 girls now they are fertile eggs. I don't know if he just go overwhelmed or what. It worked here. Good luck.
