Rooster Problems

So I have three rooster and one is really mean and the two others are fine. Two sleep together and the other sleep with the hens. The two who sleep together are mean to the other one. I am afraid they will hurt him.

Multiple roosters will develop a pecking order amongst themselves. Sometimes they fight, other times it's chasing. On occasion the fighting can be deadly.

How big is your set up? How many hens do you have? You can keep multiple roosters if you have plenty of room, and places for them to get away from each other.

I have ten hens. Can roosters live with out another rooster.

With 10 hens it's best you only keep one rooster with them to avoid over mating. Roosters don't need other roosters.

Concur. You only need one of those roosters. Pick your favorite and rehome the others.

They do say, the meaner the rooster the better the broth, but my experience is not that. I don't like eating my chickens. I'm too attached. Just so you know, most of us have had to cull (translate, send to freezer camp), excess roosters. It's part of the chicken keeping process.

Also, if you don't want to eat them or send them somewhere where they will be eaten, I've had good experiences with contacting petting zoos and places like that! Usually they will take a rooster, only if he's nice to people though.
