Rooster question!

My friend has lots of chickens and, until recently, no rooster. His chickens constantly peck each other naked. I have lots of chickens with roosters and I have none getting pecked naked. So I think having a rooster could make a difference on that point. But also, he has different breeds than I do. That could be a factor as well. If you want a rooster, have one. But, he should be gentle. My roosters get along with my three-year-old. That doesn’t mean he should be weak hearted or have no libido though. A good rooster will breed his hens with regularity, get along with the good guys, and defend the flock from predators.

Wow good to know thank you. I do not have any chicken breeds known to be aggressive, I chose all docile ones since I have small children and they have all (excluding the rooster) been great with my children. Hopefully they will continue on being kind to one another, but I will definitely keep an eye out!
