So ok. I hear about what to do if a rooster turns mean. I was wondering is there any particular age when that happens. They have seen me for at least an hour a day everyday sine they arrived. They are 16 weeka next week. 4/5 are crowing 3 are getting spurs. None of them have made any attempt at coming after me yet. Once I n awhile they might flap their wings when I'm near them. I even chase them out of the food so my scissor beak can eat first poor thing she eats and drinks I don't have the heart to cull her. Going to try getting one of those rotary nail files for dogs and grind it down It's the top one it is curved like bird of prey beak. Anyways any warning signs I should look for.

They just may start to challenge you. Upright stance, hackles out basic challenge/warning then flog you. Your demeanor will be a major factor prior to any of the warning postures and during. Challenging back may promote an attack or scare him off. I myself take the posture of ignoring them as they are no threat, I'm not a cockerel, I'm not attempting to steal or harm their girls.

When they hit sexual maturity and all the hormones are raging in them is when you'd expect behavior changes.

I just moved 3 of them into another pen across the yard a dubbed it the Bachelor pad if they don't have hens will it lessen challenging me if it started?
