Hello all, I’m new here. I started my flock last April. Long story short I ended up with two roosters in my flock. I have five hens and two turkeys. I have questions about the loss of feathers on the back of my hens. This started last fall, I assumed it was just some early molting, again I’m new at this. It started with one hen and now all of my hens are missing feathers on their back and some around their necks. I assume this is from the roosters? The one rooster is nicer(he doesn’t attack us, he’s the lower man on the totem pole), his name is Wing Ding. The other rooster, Tango, will attack my boyfriend and I if we walk away from him, I see him chasing the hens from one end of the coop to the other. One of my hens won’t even stay with the flock with they are out to roam the yard, when we finally catch her to put her up for the night she just tries to get away from Tango. Iv considered culling him. Then I worry that the other rooster will just take over the bad habits. Iv read on another forum that some people will separate him but that’s not really an option for me, unless he lives in a dog kennel next to the coop with little protection from the elements, I live in Virginia. Any help is appreciated. Thank you for those that took the time to read all of this.

My golds are the ones getting the worst of it. We had talking about getting more chicks when the weather warms up. Until then I can try the saddles. Don’t they make pants for roosters too? Lol.
