Rooster, S H U T U P

I don't mind crowing either! I like it, it does make me feel like I'm more out in the country than I am. My BA roo just started crowing, and he doesn't do it much. Honestly, it isn't any more noisy than the crows and other wild birds around here out in the woods. The dogs up the street are MUCH more obnoxious than any rooster I've ever heard.

At least my roo is quiet at night!!! None of the neighbors have complained-yet. They all pretty much dig my chickens, and the neighborhood kids love coming over and looking at them.

I still think I should try to re-home him soon, I just don't know if I want my hens penned up with a rooster, and I'm terrified he'll become aggressive once he's mature. But for now, he's really pretty, and pretty sweet!

I've heard the same thing from my neighbors. They must think it makes the neighborhood seem pastoral.
BTW, that was not the first continuous loudmouth I've had with no complaints ever. The last one just about did me in. Honestly, they are right outside my living room window, and there were times I thought I was going to have a nervous breakdown... seriously.

I'm with you Joe. I can't stand the loud mouths either! The neighbors say the same thing about liking to hear them, but like you, I am assuming they are just being nice. Why didn't you eat him? LOL! I woulda! The situation would go from

ETA: Our little bantams of course don't bother anyone including me but those big boys.....

Rob, I would have gladly eaten him, but Anne's too lazy to kill and butcher a chicken. What's a guy to do but starve when his wife's like that?

Ha ha! well, After I've already chopped of his head Kathleen really has no choice LOL! No she's good about it, she doesn't mind.
BTW, I thought of this video. This is about how annoying any big rooster is to me. LOL!

Im with you on this. When I get up in the morning and go outside, my guys are starting in....then the one next door starts in....then across the street.....then several farms over.....but I love hearing it all. We're all on 10 acres or more, so we're very far apart, but its neat to hear everyone.
