Rooster sounding like a cat and not crowing!?

My japanese bantam rooster, hasn't been to flash lately he crowed one yesterday and none today. No crop and last night he was making weird noises that sounded like a cat puring. Whats wrong with him!?!

How old is he? If he's not eating, you're gonna have to try and get food and more importantly, water into him... without it he'll dehydrate. As for the cat purring, chickens are known to do that on occasions when they are dust bathing or sleeping... alot of it, all the time, may be a concern. Does he do it alot? I will be praying for him!

Thanks I am aswell! He only has started to purr at night when we go to lock them up. He was eating a little bit today but his crop still felt empty. He is about 6 months or so, and he was with another rooster up untill about two weeks ago. Could that have anything to do with him not crowing. He crowed once today and thats was it.

Does it sound like he's got something stuck in his throat? Is he gargling? Sneezing? Wheezing, coughing? He may no be crowing because he has a respitory disease that makes him feel sick, and roosters won't crow alot when they're sick.

one of my other hens seem to have a respiratory problem but I didn't notice it until last night when we were pestiening them (severe mites because we added 3 new chicks). We use sugar cane mulch as bedding, could the dust be causing it. Also if you know, do you know how to treat a respiratory problem. lol a lot ofd imformation. He has started crowing again like usual, and the hen that might have a repository problem was a stray that we found 1 yr ago, and where not sure of her age. Her comb is the biggest thickest red comb i have ever seen, she is laying but her eyes sag a lot. is she old? Thanks for your replys!
