Rooster spreading wings - what does he mean

OP, does your rooster do this towards you? I am curious, its a behavior I haven't seen yet. Mine will flap to stretch out, but they all do that. Vic, my avatar, a black tailed buff marans, will put his folded wings out from his body about an inch or two and stand there. This is mainly on warm days, or when they've gotten some good sun on their feathers. That is just helping cool off for a moment. If that's not what you are referring to, give us some more info. It doesn't sound threatening, unless he does it while staring at you. Rooster dominance usually involves a staredown plus a few individual "tricks" to get attention. Vic will lower his head to and look up into my 14 lb pooch's eyes cuz the dog won't look at him... lol. The dog, Bo, likes his eyes just the way they are.
