How long does it usually take for a cockerel's spurs to grow in? Both of my cockerels (an EE and a cochin bantam) are 9 months old and they still have stubs. Are they going to stay like that?

I agree each bird is different, there is no set schedule for growth and they can wind up looking different on different birds, especially when they get older. Some may never be that impressive, some older roosters and even old hens may grow spurs so long they need to be trimmed so they can walk.

At nine months usually there is some growth but often not that much. I don't see any reason to worry.

Okay, thanks everyone! I don't really mind if they grow in or not. I was just curious because it seems to be taking a long time. :)
