Very handsome fella!Rooster mom LOL He is very manly.
You guys are making me cry.I wish all the best for Hei Hei, you are such an amazing person to take him and be able to care for him inside. This makes me so sad, I couldn’t even imagine how hard this must be for you. Your amazing for trying to give him the best life.
Aw, I'm sorry! I agree with chickenlover007, I want to "love" and "sad" your post at the same time! I'm so glad he'Il be happy, but sorry you won't have your little buddy with you at home anymore. Maybe he could come visit you. How far away will he be at his parents house? Letting him go is a wonderful decision. I know how hard it is to make, as I've been in a very similar sitiation before. He'll be so happy with his new family though. You are a great person for recognizing what is best for him. Good Job.I would like to say
Thank you
To all of the members of BackYard Chicken
that took the time to read my thread.
Thank you also to all of you that read it but chose not to comment,
your thoughts were enough.
I really appreciated all of your input and insights in this situation.
No matter what side you were on, you both helped me see
trough different eyes and experiences.
Thank you for your stories, your photos, your ideas, your suggestions, all the love,
your jokes, your researching, your poem, your likes, your laughs, your tears, your time, etc.
This was a very tough decision that I had to make
and it is with a broken heart that I tell you this.
But I have decided to take Hei Hei to live with his parents. This will be the best thing for him and I will miss him greatly. He is very smart and he will learn and adapt to his new normal rooster life. I have faith that he will. He will have access to what a normal rooster needs and wants and he will be safe. And as for a non-normal rooster, he will still see his mommy every chance I get. I will make sure he never forgets me, because as long as I live, I will never forget him. He is the most awesomeness rooster you could ever ask for. We had only four months together, but we did so much in those months, that it felt like years. I will start introducing him to his new flock little by little starting tomorrow.
Again, thank you so much.

I will try to keep you guys updated.I think you made a good decision, I would have been really happy if he stayed with you, but your his mom and know what's best for him and I'm sure he'll be happy with his flock, but probably will always miss you and never forget his other life. Please let me know how he does in the other part of his family

The house is not far at all, like 10 minutes. But the way I drive, 5 minutes.
I can still pick him up and go for a drive to McDodalds. Yes!!! it will be like timesharing with a child. Thanks for the idea. LOLI'm so sorry. It's tough to give away a companion/pet you love. He will adapt to his new home, I'm sure, but will always want hugs from you (and an occasional drive to McDonald's). Best wishes to you both, and kudos for putting his welfare and happiness above your own.![]()
