Thank you.Your doing all you can! And doing an amazing job. I am sure he will be back to his old self with time.
He was not drinking water either, he didn't know how to use the watering bucket that was hanging down.Aww poor Hei Hei!! Poor little guy. I just caught up with the thread and I have a chicken that threw stuff up too! Since she is a cross beak, she was eating watery mash, and she’d get too much water and throw it up. If Hei Hei was being chased away from the food, he may have just been drinking water and not enough food.
At this point, I’d say keep him, or find him a place with no other roosters and submissive hens. I know of a rooster that died from the stress of to many younger Roos.
No.Oh no! The poor dude. Do you have chicken electrolytes you could put in his water to give him a little boost?
I think you could use a B complex vitamin too, but I’m not positive. You could open a thread in the emergency/injury’s area if you feel concerned enough. Is he eating and drinking well? Any more throw ups?
Today he has been eating and drinking ok. The spitting up looks like it has stopped now.I think you could use a B complex vitamin too, but I’m not positive. You could open a thread in the emergency/injury’s area if you feel concerned enough. Is he eating and drinking well? Any more throw ups?
Oh that’s good! I feel so bad for him. But chickens are stronger than we realize. I think he will make a full recovery.Today he has been eating and drinking ok. The spitting up looks like it has stopped now.
That is very good. I am very concerned abuot the fact he wasn't able to drink much and was probably chased from the food. Good thing you brought him home. If it gets worse you could do what @Docdetective said and start a thread in emergency's and injuries.Today he has been eating and drinking ok. The spitting up looks like it has stopped now.
Will all of his missing feathers grow back?Oh that’s good! I feel so bad for him. But chickens are stronger than we realize. I think he will make a full recovery.
