Rooster still having trouble walking

It's been about 5 weeks and he is still about the same. I've tried all the vitamins recommended and I also dewormed him. He's is also confined in a small area. I did find red mites about a month ago so I treated with elector psp so far haven't seen anymore. He does feel a little under weight 7.9lbs. Eats and drinks fine. Two weeks ago took him to get his legs x ray nothing broken as she could see she also gave him moloxican. He's 17 months old they were day old when I bought them. All the others are doing well. Just wanted to know should I try a sling?

You can try a sling if you feel it will help, he may not tolerate it, some birds don't, but worth a try.

Poor guy!
What's his poop like?

It looks like he may have some neurological issues.

I'd give him at least 1/2 tablet B-Complex daily along with 400IU Vitamin E. Give some egg to help with the uptake of E.

What do you feed? I'd consider feeding him chick starter or an all flock feed.

It's so hard to know what's causing the issue, could be Marek's disease or something else. If you happen to lose him and want to find out, having a necropsy through your state lab will give you the most info.

I would 100% recommend trying a sling.
If it doesn't work after a while and he's still limping I would think its some sickness.

I don't know much about Xrays, so there's that.

Have you posted about this rooster before? Was he vaccinated for Mareks? Mareks usually hits earlier in life, unless they have recently been exposed to a new flock addition who is a carrier. Injury or a head injury is a possibility. Vitamin deficiency could be a problem, but not usually if given a balanced feed without a lot of extras. I have heard of some chickens who have had an internal infection that pressed on leg nerves. So let us know how he gets along with the vitamins E and B complex. Egg also, just a little will help with selenium.

No, never posted and they have never been exposed to any others. I ordered them as day old chicks and not sure if they were vaccinated. I'll try and find some information on the leg nerve infection and continue the vitamins. Thank you
