Something got a hold of my rooster 2 weeks ago and he hasn't crow since then. It's been very cold here too and I thought that might have a little bit to do with it. I'm getting safe chicken heaters but won't be here until Wednesday. They're not in a coop either. I just have them in a closed fence but put tarps all around it so that the wind won't get to them.

Hello:frow

Welcome to BYC. How cold is it there? Mine have a coop, but are outside happily scratching around and it's zero degrees F right now. We don't use any heat here.
It's been between 0 to 15 degrees. I can see them shiver. Snow is on the ground and they absolutely don't like the snow. They all are huddled together. They won't scratch the ground, I guess because of the snow.

Welcome to BYC. Is he eating and drinking ? If so it is probable that he is still scared by the attack.
He seems to be acting a little bit better today. He just crowed around 2 o'clock. They act like they are sensitive to cold weather. He is eating better too.
