Rooster stopped crowing

Need help with sick rooster. He is 1 year old and has stopped crowing. Noticed about 2 weeks ago his rose comb is kinda of a dark purple color. He holds his beak half open, head up and makes a faint noise. Sometimes he violently shakes his head. Seems to have trouble eating (craw feels empty) but see drinking water. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Are you sure it is not respiratory? I would check that first from what you describe. imo Hope someone with knowledge more than myself chimes in do not want to give bad advice.

maybe a gape worm? i know gape worms cause head shaking and can strangle birds, i dont know much more than that. oh they are red and fork shaped also

I would said it's more like the bird has coming down with CRD, try Tylan 50 see if it helps
