Rooster Suddenly Crowing ALL Day Long

Hey y'all,

I'm a noobie, and have raised my gang since 3 days old. They are now 15 weeks today. The rooster, Cluck, figured out he can crow some time ago, but was only crowing until we let him out in the mornings. He'd spend the rest of the day strutting around showing off how gorgeous he is, but little to no crowing. The last two days, he has been crowing all dang day. What's his deal? Is it a puberty, "I'm a man now" kind of cry or what? I only worry, because we just got new neighbors with 8 kids and boy, I'd sure hate to have them complain about him crowing. Not sure my hens are ready for lovin yet, they still run from him, so any solutions?? Thanks in advance!!

There is a good possibility the frequency of crowing my lessen once the hens mature but some rooster crow more than others.
You could try a no crow collar, I have not used one but people seem to like them, you can find a number of threads on the site discussing them.

Huh?

He is going thru a hormone surge for sure at the age and will probably try to start mounting the pullets,
who will not be ready and they will probably start making a lot of noise too.
Things should calm down once the pullets are at point of lay.

....or he could be alarmed at something lurking nearby or something new in the area.
