Hello all! I rescued a year old RIR rooster then bought 2 pullets for him. He was fine for a few weeks then I noticed him chasing the girls out of the nesting area. Turned out that one pullet was a cockrel. Oops. They moved away. Two new RIR hens moved in. He was great and they were a happy family for a little while. Last night, I noticed him being mean at bedtime.
They free-range during the day and go in the coop at sundown. The coop is for up to 6, with 3 nesting boxes, from TSC.
Is this normal? I held him and talked to him for a bit, and shut him out of the nesting area. He settled down after a minute when I let him back in. Any advice would be appreciated!
