Rooster terrorizing my HENS!

Guys I have pullets that are about 12 weeks old and I bought an adult rooster to help protect them after I lost a hen to a predator. I got a rooster and kept him separated from them for about 2 weeks to get them used to him. They could see each other through a fence that touched. Now everytime I let the rooster out with the hens he chases them around and terrorizes them and tries to breed with them. Should I just let him? The hens also won't eat or drink while he's around and they hide in the coop from him. Not sure what to do here.

I have more adult hens being delivered end of June. Hate to keep him alone for so long but yeah I guess that might be what I need to do

I think if you put him back where they are separated, but could still see each other, he will be fine.

How did this work out? I would keep this rooster away from the "younger girls" until they are laying eggs. Twelve weeks is too young.

Actually worked out ok. I got about 7 new hens and they've just kinda become fodder for the rooster. He doesn't mess with the pullets now that He's "occupied"
