Have a EE cross rooster and two white leghorn hens. They free range during the day they have a large pen and a coop for sleeping. They all come when I call. The rooster is very freindly but when I try to leave his presence he bites at my legs. I assume it is because he is trying to make me behave and stay with the flock where he thinks I belong, he does respond to eye contact and negative verbal cues to a point, but he is quick and sometimes gets me when I turn my back. I was thinking of using water in a spray bottle or even just spraying bitter apple on my jeans or socks to discourage the biting behavior, any other suggestions?
