Rooster to large for hens?

my rooster is a 8 pound welsummer mix, and i was wondering if he's to big for my 4 pound california white hens, and how much weight is to much for them, he's currently in with 3 other hens but I'm going to get rid of them and i wanted to keep him, thanks

No, they can handle his weight okay. In squatting, they are able to evenly distribute his weight over their backs and wing shoulders.

A problem can occur when a rooster is of a breed other than the hens and the size discrepancy is dramatic such as a Jersey Giant rooster with standard hens, or a ten pound standard roo with bandam hens.
