Does any one have any on-site on this? He was fine when he woke up but later in the day I saw it was bleeding so I brought him in and putt neosporin on it. It has been 4 days and he is holding his leg up and it’s completely black and feels like sandpaper. I am not sure I am treating this correctly?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

He likely stubbed his toe and injured the quick. The black on the toe is probably dried blood. The tissue on the toe appears to be healthy and uninjured. You've been dealing with it well.

If he seems to be favoring it as if it hurts, you might try a nice foot soak in Epsom salts. That can soothe the pain and also reveal the extent of the nail injury as the blood is washed away. If the nail appears to be hanging loose, it may be necessary to go ahead and remove it.

Post another photo of the toe after you soak it.

Thank you! I will soak it and send a pic after.

The bottom is normal. He acts like it’s very sore. Can you see the pic?

Yes, I can see the photo, like I said, from what I see, it looks minor but likely very sore.
Give him a few days to see if he improves.
It looks like a minor nail injury, but this can be sore for several days until the nail hardens up.
